A lot of people ask us about our name! The Wild Berry Farm? But you sell lettuce! Well... the name is actually a little bit of "insider information" so let me let you in on the fun!
We chose to call ourselves “The Wild Berry Farm” for a couple reasons:
1. Barry is my maiden name (eh... you get it? you get it? :D). My family has lived on the same 80 acre farmland for 6 generations so it is nigh on impossible to find a local who hasn't been to the family restaurant (Four Seasons- now closed) used the current family business (Storage) or interacted with "The Barry’s" in some way. So for locals, The Wild BerryFarm brings up family ties. But then why the different spelling?
2. Growing up, my first un-official job was picking wildblack berriesto sell around town. If you’ve ever picked wild blackberries you know it is a hot, sticky, and sometimes bloody affair! But it is indeed what started a whole mess of nature love for me and ultimately brought us full circle to the farm business. So when we started our very own farm, it seemed natural to give a nod to what started it all!
3. And if those two reason’s don’t convince you, we do in fact grow blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries! So it still works! ;)
